Elective course
Joining techniques of building elements and components play a decisive role in the construction process and significantly influence both fabrication and design aspects of building. This elective course dealt with potentials of differentiated interlocking systems in conjunction with digital fabrication methods. The students were challenged to examine joining techniques using rule based design strategies. Prototypes were produced in EPS foam using a hot-wire cutting technique using an industrial robot arm.
