Elective course
This elective course explored procedural design and fabrication processes and their potential for experimental landscape design. The processing of shapeless materials such as sand through digitally controlled machines equipped with sensors allowed the students to implement feedback-driven formation processes into their landscape designs. These processes were simulated in model scale using small scale robotic arms. The main objective of these investigations was not the materialization of a predefined landscape condition, but rather the precise analysis and documentation of specific material properties and aggregation processes during the simulations.

The course was conducted in collaboration with Prof. Christophe Girot, Chair of Landscape Architecture and Yael Girot, Atelier Girot.
