Selen Ercan Jenny is a trained architect and a digital fabrication researcher. She studied at METU and Delft University of Technology. From 2011 to 2013 she worked in various projects at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication at ETH Zurich including ECHORD (European Clearing House for Open Robotics Development under the European Union’s FP-7 Research Program) dimRob which focused on applying mobile robots for in-situ construction. From 2013 to 2017, she was a researcher and project coordinator at the Future Cities Laboratory of the Singapore ETH Centre (Design of Robotic Fabricated High Rises, Prof. Fabio Gramazio and Prof. Matthias Kohler) leading the mobile robotic tiling project which exploits the commercial potential of applying automation in construction both in Asia and in Europe. In 2018, she was a scientific collaborator at NCCR Digital Fabrication, as part of building strategies for on-site robotic construction research. Since June 2018, she is a PhD researcher at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication at ETH Zurich, with a focus on “Robotic Plaster Spraying: Crafting Surfaces with Adaptive Thin Layer Printing through Continuous Mobile Fabrication”.
