Petrus Aejmelaeus-Lindström is a researcher at Gramazio Kohler Research (GKR) at ETH Zurich. He has lead a number of interdisciplinary research projects and is currently finalizing his PhD titled “Rock Printing: Robotic Fabrication of Jammed Architectural Structures” which will be completed during spring 2020.

In his current research, Petrus is developing innovative robotic fabrication techniques for in situ fabrication of fully reversible structures from locally sourced materials. His work includes Rock Print, Rock Print: a manistone and Rock Print Pavilion. Rock Print was awarded the STARTS price 2017 - The grand prize of the European Commission honouring Innovation in Technology, Industry and Society stimulated by the Arts.

His research addresses the development of novel material systems, adaptive robotic fabrication methods for mobile robotics and their bi-directionally constraining behaviour. He aims to develop sustainable construction from low-grade bulk materials, particularly granular materials, which through computational design and digital manipulation becomes highly performative construction materials with minimal environmental footprint.

Petrus is an architect who has studied at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Future City Laboratories (FCL) Singapore, and ETH Zurich.
